My calling is a part of my daily life with my own family. I have a child with developmental delays and have sought out the best treatment for him. I have learned that time is important and that paying for him to receive what he needs is an investment in him and in our family. We utilize our out-of-network benefits to ensure he can receive group speech therapy and individualized ABA therapy. I have learned from my patients that if you have a child with developmental differences, then you often max out your deductible and out-of-pocket maximums. Initially, it was painful to see how much we were spending on therapies, but I quickly learned it’s better to meet deductibles and maximums quickly so that I know that everything later that my child will need will be paid for by insurance. I know now how to get more value for our care rather than being limited to long waits and limited access to in-network providers.
Why wait months or over year in some places for an evaluation?
Why not pay upfront for an evaluation when you will likely pay that amount for therapies later in the year?
From a parent’s perspective, it was worth it for our family to pay upfront for services, and then we were not limited to co-pays and the number of visits allowed in-network versus out-of-network providers. I am not an insurance expert, and every insurance plan is different. We have partnered with a company called “The Superbill,” which will provide you with immediate information about your out-of-network benefits, and you can decide if our evaluation services make financial sense for your family.
