Who I Am
James M DuRant III MD
I have had a passion to help children with disabilities even before entering medical school. My father is a general pediatrician and I live a life where I saw a pediatrician making an impact on lives. Prior to medical school I was a teacher and a coach. I loved helping the underdogs succeed and realized I wanted to help the underdog kids through medicine. I entered medical school with the intent to become a developmental and behavioral pediatrician. After 4 years of medical school, 3 years of general pediatric residency, and 3 years of a fellowship in developmental and behavioral pediatrics I did it. Now I have almost 15 years of experience in the field. I consider my job my calling.
